ARTIST/CURATOR/WRITER
ARTIST/CURATOR/WRITER
My practice is a hybrid one that freely mixes the roles of artist, curator and writer. It has evolved from a long-standing interest in history, historiography and the old genre of history painting. The work I have produced has taken a variety of forms and exhibition contexts from museum intervention, didactic drawing and digital work often accompanied by written texts and publications. The term I have used to describe this is historiographical practice, a concept that crosses various divisions between making and representing, writing and image making. This I see as a critical rather than celebratory exercise, an attempt to stretch intellect as well as taste that combines the resources and practices of the library, the studio and the museum.
